Our story

The veteran who went first.

Reuben Geimah fought the VA for the benefits his friends had earned, then moved to Panama himself before helping anyone else make the move. Benefits to Retirement is the whole road he walked, built so you don't have to walk it alone.

Five steps, one life

How it started

Chapter I · The uniform

Airborne. Engineer. Two deployments.

Reuben served in the U.S. Army as an Airborne Engineer and deployed to combat twice. Like most soldiers, he left the service knowing how to do hard things, and knowing almost nothing about the VA system waiting on the other side.

Chapter II · The battle buddy

Watching a friend fight the wrong war

Back home, Reuben watched his battle buddy, someone he went to war with, struggle to get the benefits he had earned. Claims came back low. Evidence was missing. In the end his friend paid thousands of dollars just to get help.

"No veteran should have to do that." That sentence became a company.

Chapter III · The claims

3,000+ veterans, no cut of their backpay

Reuben built a claims service to do what nobody did for his friend: read the records, find every condition, write the nexus letters and hand the veteran a complete claim, for one flat fee. The veteran signs and submits. Nobody takes a percentage of their backpay.

More than 3,000 veterans have used it since, many going from low ratings to 100% P&T.

Chapter IV · The move

The next question: now what?

Veterans kept asking the same thing once their rating came through: how do I actually live well on this? Reuben answered it the only way he trusts, by doing it first. He moved to Panama, where the dollar is the currency, foreign income isn't taxed and a VA check covers a full life.

Chapter V · Benefits to Retirement

One team for the whole road

Reuben founded Operation Freedom Panama to move veterans down safely: residency, banking, housing and the first 90 days. Today both companies are one: Benefits to Retirement. Raise the rating, then retire on it, with the same veteran-led team from start to finish.

Who you'll work with

A veteran who lives there

Most firms are either a travel agency with a legal contractor or lawyers without a service layer. You work with a veteran who lives in Panama, backed by our Panamanian immigration attorney, on the same file end to end.

Airborne Engineer with two combat deployments. Lives in Panama, answers to you directly and coordinates every attorney, broker, banker and realtor in the network.

How we work

Three principles, repeated

01

Veteran-run

Founded and operated by a U.S. Army veteran. You talk to people who've served, not a salesperson who hasn't.

02

Legal-led

Residencies are handled by the attorney whose name is on the filing. Claims are prepared, never filed for you.

03

On the ground

We live here. When something needs to happen in Panama, someone on the team is already there.
